The NeverNight Connection Premieres!

The Nevernight Connection, my latest film for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Counter Intelligence and Security Center, premiered online on Wednesday.

This crime film, co-written and directed by Jarett D. Melville, was based on the true story of Kevin Mallory, a former Central Intelligence Agency officer who was lured into spying for the Chinese through social networking. Mallory was sentenced to twenty years in prison last year. The film was produced to illustrate the tactics Chinese Intelligence use to compromise unwitting American citizens.

The film was produced by Jarett D. Melville and Skip Coblyn. The executive producers were Ward LeHardy and Tom Feliu of Rocket Media.

Pardon me while I get on my soapbox, but year after year I grow increasingly appalled by the way Hollywood kowtows to China. Hollywood prides itself on its "progressive values" but it strenuously averts its eyes from China's horrendous civil rights abuses in return for investment and access to their large market. Today, Hollywood looks back in utter shame at the way the studios placated the Nazis even as they were rounding up the Jews for extermination. Today, China has imprisoned perhaps a million Uyghurs and other Turkic minorities in concentration camps, yet we still scrub anything that might offend them from our movies. What do they have to do before we finally say enough?

History is going to judge the movie industry very harshly.

I'm glad I was given the opportunity to work on this film.

Be sure to check out my novel Chapel Street. It tells the story of a young man straddling the line between sanity and madness while battling a demonic entity that has driven his family members to suicide for generations. It was inspired by an actual haunting my family experienced. You can buy the Kindle and paperback at Amazon and the Nook, paperback and hardcover at Barnes & Noble.
